About
What is Upon Review?
Upon Review is a small experiment in how we read sport. Most post-match writing tells you what happened. This site tries to explain why it happened — the constraints, matchups, sequencing, and tradeoffs that shaped the result.
Each article starts from structured match data: events, lineups, scoring patterns, and other facts pulled into a consistent format. An AI pipeline then works through that material in stages — analysis, planning, drafting, review — with rules that favor mechanism over recap and evidence over hot takes.
I built it because I am a developer who cares about sport and wanted a playground for exploring what AI is actually good at here. Can it connect patterns across a game without inventing plays? Can it stay grounded when the narrative gets tempting? Can it make a match feel clearer, not louder? Upon Review is where I poke at those questions.
The tone is meant to be curious, not preachy. Sport is fun. Understanding it better — seeing the logic behind a transition, a bullpen move, a press that broke — makes it more fun. That is the whole point.
A few honest notes
This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any league, club, broadcaster, or data provider. Articles are generated content and may contain errors; treat them as analysis to think with, not as authoritative match reports.
If something here helps you watch the next game with sharper eyes, the experiment did its job.
Independence
Upon Review is an independent sports analysis publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any league, team, player, broadcaster, sportsbook, data provider, or rights holder.
Our goal is to explain games through mechanisms, tradeoffs, constraints, and tactical structure — not to act as an official source for any team, league, or event.
